I haven’t blogged in a while due to being stuck in the transition between uni and the real world. Has been a few weeks of up and down madness but I have now found myself a job in a furniture shop, which with my love of interiors is perfect for me.
Things are now on the up, with a visit this week back home to Saffron Walden to see my friends who I have missed dearly, and then a holiday to France to look forward to in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I will get the camera out again and have some photo’s to blog now that I can enjoy myself without any worries.
A recent trip to London led us of course to hiring the Boris bikes. After a near miss with a bus and taxi we made our way to Hyde park where I was much more comfortable riding around! We took a trip to visit the queen, of course, so that she could check out the fun that she was missing.
I have had a wonderful three years in Southampton and this probably would not have been possible without these crazy cats…
Over the last few weeks I have been busy building up to live in a new house with my boyfriend and making it our own space… we have scouted out cheap furniture on Ebay and have also had it passed down through family, and I don’t think we have done too badly! I decided to document how it came along as something for me to remember it by and so I thought I would share this with others as it is a place that I have grown to feel proud of…
Today I spent the day invigilating for my degree show and thought I would take the opportunity to take some snaps of what the show looks like. An impressive show….especially considering the cock-ups that occurred with no thanks to the bosses at Solent University, who decided to knock our whole photography area down with 3 weeks until our deadline.
However, forgetting about Solent Uni and it’s impressive disruption to our work, we managed to pull together and create this….
With the degree work now off my mind, and a house move almost complete it is once again time to blog, and this time it is some self promotion for some upcoming exhibitions that I am showing in.
Firstly my Degree show opens tomorrow in Southampton at the Marlands shopping centre, which can be found in the centre of Southampton. The show opens at 3.30 upstairs and will then move over to the Solent uni where work is also being shown in the JM building. Anyone in the area please come and take a look! The show will be open until the 21st June.
My next plug is for an exhibition that I will also be showing at. This will be Foto8 Gallery in London from the 26-30th June which will be a must see! Details can be found here on their website…. http://www.foto8.com/new/events/details/161-southampton-solent-university–fragments-of-a-captured-past
After 3 years I have finally hung my last project…. it may have taken me 6 hours but it is DONE! I don’t really know whether to feel happy or sad but at the moment I am just glad it’s finally up on the wall! Our degree show will be in the Marlands shopping centre in Southampton from the 15th of June so come along!
